  12. This is a limited edition of Sights Sounds and More.  The
  13. limited edition provides a fully functional program with
  14. limits that can be removed by purchasing a key to unlock
  15. the entire program.

  17. This program can be converted to the full version by 
  18. obtaining a Key Number from Accidental Software.  See How to
  19. upgrade below for details.

  25.   1. SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE is a screen saver and image viewer for 
  26.      windows that can use your own images, midi or wave files. 
  27.      SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE can play music from a CD-ROM. Music can 
  28.      play as pictures are being displayed.  You can select 
  29.      Password protection if desired.  Messages can be 
  30.      left on the screen.

  32.   2. SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE can be installed as a standard Window's 
  33.      Screen saver from Window's desk top, or can be used from 
  34.      the Program Group that SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE makes for windows.
  35.      SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE can be used as both.

  37.   3. SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE can be used as a screen saver and/or an 
  38.      image viewer. If you have installed SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE as a 
  39.      screen saver, and want to use it from the program manager 
  40.      to leave a message or make your system password protected 
  41.      while you have to be temporarily away, you can do this by 
  42.      double clicking the SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE Icon.  If SIGHTS
  43.      SOUNDS AND MORE is running from the program manager, it will
  44.      not invoke itself as a screen saver even if the amount of
  45.      time has passed to call it as a screen saver from the desktop.

  47.   4. SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE is ideal for corporations that need a screen 
  48.      saver that can use their own pictures or corporate logos.
  49.      It is also ideal for users who want a way to display their
  50.      own images (regardless of format) as a screen saver or 
  51.      as a stand alone program.

  53.   5. SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE is now shipped with CSA, the Calendar - 
  54.      Scheduler - Alarm utility from Accidental Software.  
  55.      This utility provides a quick reference calendar and 
  56.      scheduler.  It also allows you to Set an alarm so that
  57.      items will pop up on your screen when the specified 
  58.      date and time are reached.  NOTE: Touch Start must be
  59.      running for the alarm portion of this application to
  60.      function.  See How do I use the program from the Windows
  61.      Program Manager (#4.) below for information on how to 
  62.      active Touch Start each time windows is started.

  64. How do I install the program?
  65.   
  66.   1. Install SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE for Windows from a disk or
  67.      CD-ROM.
  68.       
  69.       a. Start Microsoft Windows.
  70.       
  71.       b. Insert the disk or CD-ROM in the proper drive.

  75.       c. From the Window's Program Manager, select FILE MENU
  76.      and choose RUN.
  77.       
  78.       d. Type x:\SETUP and press Enter.  Substitute your 
  79.          drive letter for "x:"

  83.       c. From the Control panel select add/remove programs.

  85.       d. Select install, find the file Setup.exe provided with
  86.          this program then select Finish.

  88. Trouble shooting.
  89.  
  90.    1. In some cases, if you are using a program that is 
  91.       accessing or using a DLL or other file that SIGHTS SOUNDS
  92.       AND MORE uses and installs, you may receive a message 
  93.       during installation that warns you that a file can not 
  94.       be installed since it is already in use by your system.  
  95.       You can choose Ignore to this warning and the program 
  96.       should install correctly.

  98. Known program limitations.
  99.  
  100.    1. At least one program (America On Line) will cause the 
  101.       pictures displayed by SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE Plus to loose their
  102.       color definition if America On Line is maximized when
  103.       this program runs as a screen saver.  This problem will
  104.       not occur if you are using a 15 bit or higher screen mode
  105.       or America On Line is Minimized.
  106.  
  107.    2. SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE Plus requires that approximately 60%
  108.       of windows system recources are free if you are attempting
  109.       to use JPG compressed pictures.  If the program behaves
  110.       irratically or doesn't show your JPG pictures correctly,
  111.       insure system recources are at or above 60%.

  113. How do I make SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE the active screen saver?
  114.    
  115.    1. Select "yes" to the inquiry during installation that
  116.       asks if you want SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE to be installed as the 
  117.       current screen saver.  This will place SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE
  118.       as the current screen saver.  If you are using windows 95
  119.       SS and More may not be selected as the system screen saver.
  120.       If this is the case, you will need to manually select
  121.       S S and More as the system screen saver.
  122.    
  123.    2. You can select Saver Set Up from the Miscellaneous 
  124.       menu to access the Saver Set Up utility in the program.
  125.       Turn the SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE screen saver function on or off
  126.       as well as selecting the amount inactive keyboard or 
  127.       mouse time before the screen saver portion of the program
  128.       starts.

  130. Alternative method for making SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE the active screen
  131. saver. With windows 95, you should complete the windows 95 section to
  132. insure S S & More is properly set up as the system screen saver.

  134.    1. Once SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE is successfully installed, it may be 
  135.       selected as the current screen saver from windows.

  139.       a. From the Windows Program Manager, select MAIN.
  140.       
  141.       b. From MAIN select CONTROL PANEL.
  142.       
  143.       c. From CONTROL PANEL select DESK TOP.

  145.       d. From DESK TOP select the arrow key next to SCREEN 
  146.      SAVER.
  147.       
  148.       e. From the menu, select S S and MORE.

  152.       a. Right click the your desk top.

  154.       b. From the menu that presents, select properties.

  156.       c. From the panel that presents, select the screen saver tab.

  158.       d. Open the screen saver list box.

  162.    2. The above steps will select SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE as the
  163.       current screen saver.  Use the SET UP button to select 
  164.       the features of the program you want.

  166.    3. Push the TEST button to run the screen saver program 
  167.       as a test.

  169.    4. Select the desired inactive time for the screen saver 
  170.       program to implement itself.

  172. How do I use the program from the Windows Program Manager?
  173.  
  174.    1. If the SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE program group is not open, double 
  175.       click on the SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE program group.
  176.  
  177.    2. To run SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE, double click on its Icon.
  178.  
  179.    3. The program will start in the Set Up Mode.  Select the 
  180.       options you want, then push the Screen Saver button to 
  181.       start the program.

  183.    4. Touch Start:  Double click the Touch Start Icon to 
  184.       activate the touch start features.  You can select many
  185.       options for touch start activation. Touch Start activation
  186.       can be terminated by moving the mouse pointer to the
  187.       (red line) on the screen.  If the Touch Start check box
  188.       is activated, Touch Start will reactivate itself after
  189.       the screen saver portion of SIGHTS SOUNDS AND MORE has
  190.       terminated.

  192.       Copy the Touch Start Icon to the program manager's Start 
  193.       Up program group to have Touch Start activate each time 
  194.       windows is started.  Once the Icon has been copied to the 
  195.       Start Up Program Group, high light the Start Up Groups Touch
